Fanatics Unveils New NHL Jerseys with Commitment to Quality Unlike MLB Collection

Fanatics and the NHL have unveiled the highly anticipated new jerseys that players will sport in the upcoming season. The Fanatics Authentic Pro NHL jersey marks a significant shift as it will be the first player-worn sports apparel to showcase the Fanatics logo. This move comes after the NHL has had a history of donning jerseys from brands like CCM, Reebok, and most recently, Adidas, before Fanatics secured the exclusive rights in a decade-long agreement.

While Fanatics will continue to work with SP Apparel, the same company previously used by Adidas and others, they now hold the newly acquired licensing rights. The new jerseys bring a fresh look to the ice, with subtle yet impactful changes that fans will appreciate. The shoulders are slightly broader, and a notable addition is the NHL hologram shield on the front of the neck in the ‘V Line’ area. Additionally, the material has been woven differently to address concerns raised by players about the durability of the Adidas jerseys.

Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin emphasized the collaborative effort that went into designing the new jerseys, stating that feedback from NHL players, the NHLPA, equipment managers, teams, and the NHL itself played a pivotal role in shaping the final product. The design process involved extensive consultation with all 32 teams, with players expressing overwhelmingly positive reactions to the new uniforms.

This unveiling brings a sense of relief to sports fans and memorabilia collectors, especially after the mixed reception of Major League Baseball’s jerseys released through Fanatics. The NHL jersey launch stands in contrast to the MLB rollout, which faced criticism for smaller logos and player names on the back, as well as issues with the material and design of the apparel. Fanatics’ thorough approach, which included revisiting all NHL teams to ensure satisfaction, reflects a commitment to getting it right.

As the new jerseys are revealed, two teams, the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Mighty Ducks, are set to showcase their designs at a later date due to logo changes. Fans eagerly anticipate the opportunity to see the new Fanatics NHL jerseys firsthand during the NHL Draft at The Sphere in Las Vegas. The event will not only offer a glimpse of the fresh designs but also provide insights from newly drafted players on their experience wearing the innovative jerseys.
