4Wall Helps Reveal Detroit Lions’ New Uniforms

Detroit Lions fans have endured years of disappointment, but their patience was rewarded last season when the team made a remarkable comeback, coming within one game of reaching the Super Bowl. The team’s resurgence was fueled by innovative play calling from their coach, Dan Campbell, who gained recognition for his unconventional strategies. As anticipation for the upcoming 2024 season builds, the Lions have once again captured the spotlight, this time with the unveiling of sleek new uniforms that have excited fans.

NFL rules permit teams to update their uniforms every five years, and while the Lions could have introduced new designs earlier, they chose to wait. The unveiling of three new uniforms has proven to be well worth the delay, with a particular standout being the alternative black uniform featuring bold blue lettering, aptly named “Motor City Muscle.”

The excitement surrounding the new uniforms reached a peak as the Lions hosted a special reveal event at their Ford Field home, drawing a crowd of enthusiastic fans. Notably, the same stage used for the uniform unveiling was also utilized for the Detroit Lions NFL Draft Party, showcasing the team’s efficient event planning. The success of both events was attributed to the dedicated efforts and teamwork of 4Wall Entertainment’s Detroit crew.

Under the leadership of VP of Live Events, Joe Leahy, the 4Wall team, including members such as Kareem Harris, Gary McGarity, Ross Zhang, and others, set a vibrant and stylish tone for the uniform reveal event. The event was enhanced by the use of 113 CHAUVET Professional fixtures, which included a variety of lighting elements like washes, motorized battens, strobe-washes, blinders, linear units, and foggers, adding to the overall spectacle.

Utilizing a 58’ x 38’ mobile stage with an 80’ T-shaped thrust and 29-30’ trim, the team created a striking setup on the field that captivated live spectators. The stage was adorned with three large video walls spanning its width, along with a horizontally oriented screen across the top, all expertly managed by 4Wall. The video content showcased during the event was filmed at the 4Wall Detroit warehouse using Chauvet equipment.

The beginning of the reveal event was a dramatic moment as the stadium plunged into darkness, with the focus shifting to the narrated images displayed on the video walls. The atmosphere was transformed as the COLORado PXL Bar 16s illuminated the area in the Lions’ signature blue color when the players emerged in the new uniforms. The Mavericks created striking beam patterns, complemented by the strobing effects of the Color STRIKE M units and dynamic backlighting from the EPIX STRIP fixtures, all coming together to enhance the overall mood of the event.
